Shot in the abandoned laundry room of a victorian bath house…

Unfortunatly the daylight got the better of us and we weren’t able to explore the location as much as we wanted.  More to come soon!

Made of Stone

September 1st, 2012

All work and no play means the blog doen’t get the love it deserves… It also means I have a mountain of images that still need to be uploaded!  So here’s an old one from the archives…

Historic Panormas

August 29th, 2012

As part of my work with 88 Media, we’ve been delivering a lot of digital Heritage projects.  This has allowed us to explore a number of interactive film and video platforms such as 360° tours, some of which I’ll post up soon.

It’s been such an exciting time working on these that I’ve been snapping like mad and taking a lot more landscape images, below is a portfolio piece taken at Buildwas Abbey (viewing it on a monitor really doesn’t do it justice).

Kit: Canon 5D Mkii, 10-20mm lens, tripod, photostitching software.

Shooting with Emma

Working with dancers is always a breeze.  Good dancers always have an amazing understanding of how to express themselves with very little direction.  Emma was particularly excellent in these shoots taken in the studio.

Babies Make for Wonderful Distractions…

June 6th, 2011

Oops! It appears I’ve been neglecting this blog for a while, but all for good reasons… eight months ago my wife and I gave birth to our wonderful son Orpheo (pictured below).

So between making babies, a busy lecturing schedule, post-grad studies and the usual commercial work, things have got a little busy! …I’ve also relocated to (and from) a new studio space in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

I’m hoping to back-pedal and upload some of the awesome video, film and photography projects I’ve been involved in over the past year or so. There’s some exciting projects on the horizon, so keep an eye or two peeled for upcoming announcements!

When I got the commission to shoot a collection of hand creafted woollen lingerie I didn’t really know what to expect, but as soon a I saw the outfits and discussed the shoot with designer Clare Flaherty I knew we were in for a treat!  So here’s a sneaky peek from the shoot.

Below is a handful of behind the scenes pics

I was digging trhough some old photographs today and found this set I shot almost 18 months ago for a local fashion designer and their “Quintessentially British” campaign.  The set-up was fairly simple, just one light and a white curve.

Lights: 1x Bowns head with large softbox
